Moose Drool
About this Piece:
Most paintings of moose consist of traditional western-style artwork on canvas. However, Teshia created my contemporary painting, Moose Drool, with the brightest & boldest colors of acrylic paints that she could find, & on a very large 48"x36"x1.5" wooden-panel canvas. Her goal was to create the dominance & elusiveness of the wild & majestic moose, without the traditional hues of browns, blacks, whites, etc. A moose is a very tall & powerful animal that is often found wandering solo, drinking from wetlands & roaming through remote areas of scenic & wild North America. Teshia has seen these beautiful animals on several occasions in her home state of Montana. They are massive & strange looking creatures. They have always intrigued her with their uniqueness in the animal kingdom, their rarity of being spotted in the wild, and their often-undermined power & dominance. Teshia hoped to portray this drinking moose as bold, surreal, striking & unique....Just as these alluring animals exist in the wild.
