Official Opening of Icons of the West on May 15th, from 6-8 PM at Dana Gallery in Missoula, Montana. The evening will include an introduction from Mayor John Engen with an awards ceremony to follow along with live music and refreshments.

Icons of the West is a national show in it's early years that follows the Dana Gallery's success hosting two Oil Painters of America events along with the touring Out West exhibition. Icons of the West promises to become a major community event and a fixture in the contemporary regional arts scene.

This year an independent jury selected 100 pieces of work from 500 submissions; to be paired with a small number of nationally famous and emerging artists included by invitation. Over $10,000 in prizes and certificates furnished by entry fees, magazine donations, art manufacturers, and patrons of the gallery will be given to winners in various categories, including a $2500 best of show.

Magazine Representatives & Sponsors present will include; Western Art & Architecture, Southwest Art, Western Art Collector and Big Sky Journal.

Icons of the West is a diverse and engaging investigation and portrayal of western icons and the role they play in contemporary American culture.

We are excited to announce the acceptance & official debut of Teshia's new Original Painting, "Moon Bugle", a vibrant 60x48x1.5" Acrylic on Canvas piece, which has been chosen for this exciting exhibition & will be up for awards!
